Pulp Capping

When horses suffer a tooth fracture that exposes the pulp cavity, it can be dangerous for the tooth. When the pulp cavity is exposed, it can die, leading to an infection of the tooth. If detected early, a pulp capping can be performed.

In this procedure, a special filling is placed on top of the living pulp, shielding it from bacteria. This allows the pulp cavity to survive and avoids the need for tooth extraction.
