Bidou was referred to Equitom with a progressive skull deformity that had developed over the past five years. Despite multiple examinations, the underlying cause remained unclear until a CT scan was performed. 🙏🏼

🦷 The diagnosis: a severely infected tooth with breakthrough into the sinus, which was completely filled with purulent material. Interestingly, the typical purulent nasal discharge was absent due to a full obstruction of the natural drainage between the sinus and the nasal passage.

Treatment involved extraction of the affected tooth, followed by extensive sinus lavage. Thanks to this intervention, Bidou is now pain-free. The anatomical deformity remains, but no longer causes any functional discomfort.

‼️In these complex cases, a clear diagnosis based on radiographic examination can sometimes be challenging. A CT scan gives a 3D image of the head with detailed information about the problem and is ideal for surgical planning.
