Melanomas are common in grey horses, over 80% will develop one by the age of 15. Yet many owners still believe these tumors can’t be treated. ❌ That’s not true.

At Equitom, we want to raise awareness: in many cases, surgical treatment is possible, and can be highly effective.

👉 In this case, the tumor was completely removed during surgery. Although we sometimes manage to preserve the tail, this time amputation was the best choice.

These tumors may seem harmless at first, but they can grow, turn malignant, or cause significant discomfort. Regular monitoring and timely action are essential.

💪🏼 The good news? In most cases, melanomas can be surgically removed, even the most advanced ones.
