Culture swab

Culture swabbing involves taking skin secretions from the lesions and placing them in culture to see if bacteria are present and to determine which antibiotics they are sensitive to.

Skin scraping

Skin scraping consists of taking crusts from the skin lesion to see if there are any parasites present with the help of a microscope.

Skin biopsies

Skin biopsies consist of taking several small cores of skin after administration of a local anaesthetic in order to look at them under the microscope and guide us in the diagnosis and treatment.
