Rehabilitation Centre at Equitom

The development of a rehabilitation centre at Equitom:

Just a few months after we opened our new Equine Hospital in 2014, we realised rapidly that there was a great need for a high level rehabilitation centre where professional follow-up and custom made rehabilitation are key.

Equitom is one of the first equine hospitals that developed its own rehabilitation centre. This allows us to not only help our clients in making a clear diagnosis, install an appropriate treatment or even a surgical intervention, but also take care of their horse during the after-care and rehabilitation period.

Equitom created a unique situation where our specialised veterinarians, who initially examined and treated your horse are also responsible for the follow-up in the rehabilitation unit. They will perform recheck examinations (clinical, ultrasound, radiographs, etc.) whenever it is indicated and adjust the treatments and the rehabilitation schedule as required.

Advantages:

  • The rehabilitation centre is designed in a way that the horses can recover and rehabilitate in a luxury, calm and natural environment.
  • Some horse owners may not have the time or the knowledge to manage the rehabilitation protocol. At Equitom we have a complete professional team dedicated to fulfilling the specific needs of each horse.
  • Complete follow-up of the patient by the treating veterinarian who is in permanent contact with the rehabilitation veterinarian.
  • The rehabilitation protocol is adjusted according to the results of recheck examinations (clinical, radiographs, ultrasound, MRI, etc.).
  • Complete rehabilitation of the horse to allow training more efficiently, faster & better.
